How do we emotionally prepare for the first experience?2026-06-08T09:59:33+03:00

The first session is the beginning of a beautiful relationship with water.

How does the first session go?2026-06-08T09:59:54+03:00

The first session is a settling-in experience, not a test.
We focus on helping your child get familiar with the water, connecting with you as the parent, and creating a sense of safety.
We start with small steps, through play and gentle interaction.

At what age can my child start swimming classes at Babyswim Cluj?2026-06-08T10:00:03+03:00

Aquatic activities for babies can generally start from around 4 months of age, when the child is ready to explore the aquatic environment safely, alongside a parent and under the instructor’s supervision in the Babyswim Cluj pool.
Newborns can start aquatic activities at home from 2-3 weeks, after the umbilical cord has healed.
Classes can start from a very young age. Activities are adapted to each developmental stage, and the main goal is to familiarize the child with water in a safe and enjoyable way.

What is needed for participation?2026-05-27T13:50:09+03:00

  • personal hygiene items

Required medical documents:

  • medical certificate for the child: clinically healthy

Why do you recommend taking a probiotic after the pool?2026-06-08T16:39:32+03:00

Taking part in water activities can expose your child’s body to temperature changes and a new environment.
A probiotic can support gut flora balance and immunity, especially during adjustment periods. This is a preventive recommendation and can also be discussed with your pediatrician.

Can my child attend if they have a mild cold?2026-06-24T15:18:47+03:00

For your child’s safety and that of the other participants, we recommend postponing sessions if there are symptoms of illness (fever, persistent cough, heavy discharge). Health comes first. Please read the House Rules.

What do we do if your child already has ear sensitivity or has had ear infections in the past?2026-06-08T10:00:36+03:00

It’s important to talk to your pediatrician before starting the classes. Most of the time, participation is possible, with a few precautionary measures and careful monitoring.

Do children often get ear infections if they go swimming?2026-06-08T09:58:27+03:00

This is a common concern. In most cases, ear infections are not caused by swimming itself, but by respiratory infections or individual factors. During classes, safety and hygiene rules are followed to reduce risks, and session duration is adapted for the child’s comfort. Children should not come to the pool if they have an ear infection.

We advise parents to take care to keep their children’s ears dry. After swimming or bathing, wet ears must be dried!

Here are a few suggestions:

  • towel technique: gently wiping them with a towel or soft cloth or tissues
  • you can use a hair dryer on the lowest setting, holding it at least one meter away from the ear

These recommendations are essential for preventing swimmer’s ear:

■ treating rhinitis, sinusitis, and infections

■ teaching children to blow their nose correctly when they have a cold or nasal aspiration for babies

The danger of cotton swabs: doctors recommend avoiding inserting foreign objects into the ear, including cotton swabs.

Protection: if your little one is prone to ear infections, choose a silicone swim cap and moldable silicone earplugs.

Small things make a big difference

Health is not luck—it’s knowledge!

Is it worth investing in swimming lessons for a young child?2026-06-08T09:58:39+03:00

For many parents, the benefits are visible not only physically, but emotionally too: confidence, independence, and a healthy relationship with water. It’s an investment in your child’s development, not just an activity. And the effects show over time—especially for kids who come regularly for years; they get used to discipline and to sport.

Isn’t chlorine dangerous for babies and toddlers?2026-06-08T09:58:40+03:00

Yes, it’s very dangerous, especially in the first years of life, between 0-2 years. That’s precisely why our pool doesn’t use chlorine; instead, it uses salt. The water is treated with saline electrolysis, which is safe and gentle on your little one’s skin and eyes, making it truly baby-friendly.

Won’t my child catch a cold if they go swimming?2026-06-08T09:58:41+03:00

It’s one of the most common concerns. In reality, swimming in the right conditions helps strengthen the immune system. The water and air temperature are kept at an optimal level for children, and the lesson length is adjusted to avoid discomfort or fatigue.

Why are group classes recommended over individual ones?2026-06-08T16:40:20+03:00

Group classes offer important benefits for your child’s development:

  • children learn through imitation and observation
  • the environment becomes more motivating and more fun
  • confidence and social skills develop
  • progress is more natural and more consistent

At the same time, each child receives individual attention from the instructor.

What are the benefits of swimming for babies?2026-06-08T09:57:56+03:00

Aquatic activities contribute to:

  • muscle development
  • improving coordination and balance
  • stimulating psychomotor development
  • developing lung capacity
  • boosting self-confidence
  • strengthening the parent–child bond

How long does it take to see results?2026-06-08T09:59:34+03:00

Real progress comes with consistency.

Can Grandpa or the nanny come with the child?2026-06-08T09:58:51+03:00

Yes, your child can take part in activities with another trusted adult too: grandpa, grandma, or a nanny.
What matters is that the accompanying person is calm, attentive, and engaged in the activity.

For everyone’s safety, the adult who goes into the water must follow the same rules as parents, including providing the required medical certificate.

In many families, grandparents or the nanny become valuable partners in this experience, helping maintain continuity and your child’s joy in the water.

What if the parent is afraid of water?2026-06-08T09:56:54+03:00

It’s a more common situation than you think and it’s perfectly okay.

Many parents discover that once they see how naturally and joyfully their child interacts with the water, their confidence gradually increases. There’s no pressure. Each adult adapts at their own pace.

Does the parent need to know how to swim?2026-06-08T09:56:51+03:00

No, it is not necessary for the parent to know how to swim in order to participate in aquatic activities with their child.

The activities take place in safe conditions, in water of appropriate depth, and the instructor continuously guides each exercise. The parent’s role is to provide the child with support, confidence, and presence, not swimming performance.

Many parents actually discover that these activities are an excellent opportunity to become more familiar with the water in a controlled and friendly environment.

Can the other parent, or grandma/grandpa, or the nanny wait by the pool?2026-06-24T15:49:27+03:00

We strictly respect each family’s choice.
If there is no consent, the child will not appear in published photos or video materials.

The safety and confidentiality of children are our priority.

What is the pool water disinfected with?2026-06-08T09:57:56+03:00

At BabySwim Cluj, your little one’s health and safety are our top priority!

That’s why we use a 𝕤𝕒𝕝𝕥-𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝕖𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕣𝕠𝕝𝕪𝕤𝕚𝕤 and UV water treatment system.

This modern technology lets us disinfect the water without harsh chemicals like chlorine, which can irritate babies’ delicate skin. That’s why we’re proud of our advanced salt-water electrolysis disinfection method, which protects children’s skin and mucous membranes from chlorine’s harmful effects. ✨

Salt (NaCl) is added to the water, and its chemical composition is responsible for disinfecting the water—ideal for babies, toddlers, pregnant women, and parents with sensitive skin.

Is baby swimming safe? Is it safe for the child?2026-06-08T09:59:22+03:00

Safety is the top priority.
Yes, baby swimming is safe, because activities are organized in a pool dedicated exclusively to young children, with appropriate temperature, following strict safety and hygiene protocols and under the guidance and supervision of specialized instructors, and exercises are adapted to the child’s age and level.

The parent actively participates in each session, providing the child with safety and comfort.

Why does the place where your baby swims matter?2026-05-30T15:27:18+03:00

The first months of life are defining.

  • your baby’s skin absorbs everything,
  • their lungs breathe the air above the water,
  • their little eyes are in direct contact with the water.

In a standard public pool, industrial chlorine is inevitable.
At BabySwim Cluj, NO!

And one more thing that few parents know, but which makes all the difference:

  • Our pool is exclusively for babies and toddlers. Period.
  • We don’t host private parties where dozens of children of all ages share the same water.
  • We don’t host swimming lessons for older children.
  • No adults enter for aqua gym, zumba, or other activities—the water is always just for babies!

How is the water disinfected?2026-05-30T15:27:17+03:00

We add natural salt (NaCl) to the pool.
Through the electrolysis process, the salt generates a natural disinfectant, in minimal and automatically controlled concentrations.
The water remains perfectly clean, without adding any chemical chlorine.

What does this mean for your baby?

Zero added chlorine in the water:

  • no pungent smell,
  • no irritation on your little one’s delicate skin,
  • no redness in their eyes after each session

Water as gentle as seawater:

  • the salt concentration is minimal and natural, similar to what you feel on your skin by the sea

No chloramines:

  • the substances in classic pools responsible for irritation, coughing, and allergies in children have no place in our pool

Constantly verified quality:

  • our water is monitored and approved by DSP Cluj, so you enter the pool with the certainty that everything meets the strictest hygiene and safety standards
Why do we ask for the medical certificate “Fit for swimming”?*2026-05-27T13:51:10+03:00

Because we love them just as much as you do.

We know it feels like an extra step. Another trip to the doctor, another piece of paper.

But let us explain why it truly matters.

Water doesn’t forgive surprises.

Aquatic activities are wonderful, but they’re also *real physical effort* for a baby. The heart works. The lungs work. The little body adapts to a new environment.

That’s exactly why we need to know your baby *can handle this effort* in complete safety — and the pediatrician is the only one who can confirm that.

What exactly do we check?

  • That your baby is healthy and can do “sport”
  • That there are no conditions that could be worsened by water or exertion
  • That the parent who gets in the water is also in good health

When you sign up, you also sign a declaration on your own responsibility confirming that both you and your baby:

  • do not have a fever
  • do not have convulsive or contagious conditions
  • do not have any other illnesses that could endanger your health or that of the other participants

It’s not bureaucracy. It’s respect.

Respect for your baby.

For the other children in the water.

For the families who chose us and deserve a 100% safe environment.

If you have questions about what the certificate needs to include or how to get it quickly from your family doctor or pediatrician, write to us directly. We’re here.

Is the pool water tested?2026-05-27T13:49:51+03:00

🔎 We regularly check water quality through tests carried out by the Public Health Diagnostic and Investigation Laboratory within the Cluj County Public Health Directorate.

The results are always excellent, and parents can feel confident that their little ones are enjoying a safe and pleasant swimming experience!

How do you treat the pool water?2026-05-27T13:55:55+03:00

We have a water treatment system using salt electrolysis.
This modern technology allows us to disinfect the water without harsh chemicals like chlorine, which can irritate babies’ delicate skin. That’s why we’re proud of our advanced disinfection method using salt electrolysis, which protects children’s skin and mucous membranes from the harmful effects of chlorine.

Is the water safe for babies and toddlers?2026-05-27T13:55:54+03:00
